Drawn to You

JOY is watching Liz, Jordan's girlfriend sketch. I wondered if she could draw something that resembled Noah and boy did she ever. Noah was thrilled! A few nights ago, Noah was working on a sketch. I was amazed that it was more than the usual stick figure. He replied, "I learned it from Liz's drawing of me."

Let Your Light So Shine

Allie, Johnathan, and Grace played a piano piece. I told a pirate joke, (bad idea :) ) and then I suggested Daniel (Mallory's beau) taking his turn. Lisa leaned and said he was quite the musician and so I pleaded and prodded. Who knew he could play the piano like that? Sometimes I am obnoxious about things, but had I not been that night and we all would have missed out on some amazing talent. JOY was being able to appreciate other's talents and witness their light shining.

The 1st JOY of Christmas...Lion House Tradition

A delicious dinner at the Lion House to ring in the Christmas Season... green salad, warm Lion House rolls, glazed ham, cheese potatoes, vegetables and crepes for dessert...sitting at Grandma Garff's table...dinner conversation with Howard, Lisa, Richard and Camille...family photos...Mom and Dad sharing a message of love and gratitude...it was more than a JOYful moment...it was a JOYful evening. Thanks to Mom and Dad for making every season special.

The Bright Orange Box

The bright orange box was waiting for me at the end of my workday. I could hardly wait to open the box and see how the project turned out. It was beautiful and I am so pleased with this Anniversary Gift. I felt such JOY in seeing the product of hours of hard work. JOY is and will be in presenting this to Mom and Dad for their Anniversary and JOY will continue to come each time I look at it.

A Sinking Feeling of JOY

My wonderful husband talked of plans to update our kitchenette. I was thinking way down the road. He got busy on the internet searching out a double sink. For the last year, we have had to wash all our dishes by hand in one sink and without a disposal. So when he came home on Monday with this beautiful cast iron sink, I was thrilled. There were saws and painters putty. There were boxes and parts and the kitchen looked like a disaster. When I awoke the following morning, I knew the sink fairy had been there. It was an awesome sight...clean, tidy, and ready for dishes. JOY came in the hard work and ingenuity of Rick and in a more convenient sink.
