Plug 'Em In...Plug 'Em In

As we headed to the Chuck-a-Rama, I questioned the behavior of two energetic boys. Little did I know the power of the IPOD.

JOY was seeing Noah and Tryn have conversation or not.

Christmas Adam

Noah was wrestling with Rick on Christmas Eve..."Hey dad...was yesterday Christmas Adam...you know if today is Christmas EVE, wouldn't yesterday be Christmas ADAM?" JOY is the way Noah thinks. JOY is the way he can make me smile.

JOY is a sense of humor.

A Long Winter's Nap

" What is a kerchief and Who wears a cap? while I settle down for my long winter's nap... When by the TV there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the couch to see what was the matter. Away to the bathroom I flew like a flash, tore open the door and saw my mustache ???"

"NNOOOAAAHHHH !!"

JOY is Noah's teasings.

Driving through the neighborhoods has brought me tons of JOY and laughter...some homes decorated by artists and others by just plain ole characters. Within my home, I have a few of my own characters that bring charm, warm memories and JOY...

JOY is decorations.

Copy Me

Noah likes to play this game called "Copy Me," where I copy everything he says. Today, "Copy Me" took on a whole new meaning. I was working on the computer and he was copying his drawings on the printer. I overheard him say, "I am going to copy my face..." I didn't think he would really do it. I enJOYed the creativity of Noah AND worried about his eyesight!

I'll Have the Soup Please

The family went around the corner from Summit Watch to a Mexican Restaurant for dinner. We were seated in an area with three tables in a small room. Noah and Johnathan had their own table and made movies with the camera. The rest of us gathered around the large table. The chips and salsa were superb, so we had high hopes for the meal to follow. It was cold outside and soup seemed to hit the spot. The waitress came to the table. I inquired of the vegetable soup wondering if it was spicy. The waitress said that it was not spicy at all and so I ordered a bowl. Mom followed my lead and ordered the soup as well. The meal was a long time in coming. Everyone was served but Mom and me . She wondered if she had missed something and Mom reminded her of the vegetable soup. I had envisioned a tomato-salsa type base with a variety of vegetables. I was astounded at the size of the bowl. Mom and I looked at each other in anticipation. What we saw was a yellow transparent broth with a few carrots, cabbage and onions. Simultaneously, Mom and I sipped the soup. Spicy? Oh my no! In fact there wasn't a bit of flavor period. I went in search of salt shakers and we doused the liquid with salt. We overcame our disappointment with a bit of laughter. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we would have plenty of room for the feast after a dinner of this nature. I have heard Cabbage can be cleansing...at least we had the JOY of wonderful company.

Friendly Rival

JOY is a friendly rival of the Valley. On game day, it is evident everywhere that BYU and University of Utah are in opposition. Around 5:00 p.m. there is the text from Howard..."Getting ready for the game. GO UTES." A call from Rick to record the game. "GO BYU." The stop at Harmons was a dead give away. Everyone is dressed in their favored team shirt, including the employees...but that wasn't all... Balloons, cakes, cookies, cheese balls...JOY is knowing that whoever wins, I am happy and can't go wrong.

Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary

Mary, Mary quite contrary...how do your children grow? Now that was funny Tryn. I love the spontaneity of children. I will take my chances on tomatoes.
