Christmas Day

JOY was watching a sleepy Noah awake to Santa's Gifts. This Christmas was a bit tricky because of a 9:00 a.m. Sacrament Meeting. Noah agreed to save the presents for after the Christmas Service. I found JOY singing in the Christmas Choir. I found JOY in Noah's excitement as he opened presents. I found JOY in knowing there was more JOY yet to come...

JOY is a list of JOYS on Christmas Day.

The 18th JOY of Christmas...Singing Christmas Praises

Christmas Music brings me so much JOY. The day after Halloween, I plug in the Christmas CD's and tune into FM100.3...plenty of time to hear and sing praises to my Lord and then to "repeat the sounding JOY."

JOY is having ears to hear and reasons to sing.

The 17th JOY of Christmas...J is for Jesus

What can I say, "J" is for Jesus and it is Jesus that brings JOY to the world.

JOY is following the shepherd and belonging to his flock.

The Candy Cane symbolizes the Shepherd's Crook. It was used to keep the sheep from straying from the fold. Jesus is the Shepherd gathering His sheep. Turn the Candy Cane upside down and the staff makes the letter "J," to remind us of our Shepherd and to the flock in which we belong.

Jesus of Nazareth

(artwork by Bette Myers the background history of this painting is worth reading)

JOY is in Jesus. I have been watching this DVD," Jesus of Nazareth" and I am reminded of the Savior's goodness, the Savior's miracles, the Savior's love...I have felt inspired and uplifted. I have felt recharged with the inspiring words..."The Heart of the Lord is Mercy" I am in absolute awe and wonder. He is my JOY and my Hero. He has my heart. He died for me and I will live for Him.

He Knows My Thoughts

How do I know Heavenly Father knows my thoughts? Evidence.

*We just returned from the dump. Now the water heater goes out. I thought, "I wonder how long that will sit by the side of our house." The doorbell rings. It is a man named Saul. He happened to be driving by and noticed the water heater. He gathers scrap metal and asked me if he could take it off our hands.

*I have been tutoring two times per week in which I have needed a sitter for Noah. It has always been my dread to have to call around and find someone. I think, "Heavenly Father, how can I do this?" He practically sends me my own live in babysitter.

*I am creeped out by spiders, ants, and any kind of bugs. Living in a basement apartment seems to be a haven for the creatures. In one hour, I swatted five big spiders and a pile of ants. (I try to leave them alone if I'm in their environment...but when they are in mine...) I think, "I hate this...if I find one more spider...Heavenly Father, how do I deal with this?" I am working out in the garage and I hear, "Mam...I am in your area and giving your neighborhood a special on Pest Control."

I know Heavenly Father is aware of me. I know He knows of my concern for the finances and the collection of past rent. I wonder all the time how this will ever be resolved. He knows. He knows and I trust He will provide the way.

Be the Change

I have already forgotten about the glass half full idea. I am determined once again to find JOY and see the good in all my relationships. JOY is having another chance with Rick. JOY is knowing we can improve upon our past. JOY is knowing the Savior made it possible for us to forgive, forget, and move on to our God given potential. I will be the change.
