Tahoe Woes No More

Since the load of boxes and piles of stuff for Deseret Industries, I have been absolutely paralyzed about emptying out the car and then giving it a good clean. Heck....I had so many other places needing my attention that it was easy for me to let this one go. Every time I had to take my vehicle, I was constantly reminded of my procrastination. There was not even a place for a passenger. Rick thought since he was getting a boat load of miles on the truck, he would take the Tahoe instead...which meant the time to clean it was now...no excuses. It was an early Saturday Morning and I was dreading the work but I am thrilled...full of JOY...I have a clean car and I can take people around without having to offer up excuses for the mess. Though I was apprehensive about starting this project, Rick needed the car which forced me to deal with it. I am so happy I don't have to think, "I should really go clean out my car..." because it is DONE!!!! Sometimes JOY sneaks up on you.

Loose Ends

July 14, 2011
JOY is finishing up loose ends, a trip to the dump and OxiClean. We came home from the dump to find the kitchen and family room flooded. Oxi Clean not only took the water spots out, but a few of Vinci's too. JOY is a brand new water heater...and Rick being the handyman that he is, saved us $400.00 in an installation fee. JOY is also prepared neighbors. Their Bissel Steamer pulled up the water from the carpet.

Mr. Clean

July 13, 2011
JOY is Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. He is my new love. I was able to get most everything off the walls, doors. and floorboards...including scuffs, permanent marker, paint etc.

Before and Afters

BEFORE and AFTERS...I just love before and afters when it comes to projects. (Doesn’t really apply with age.) I took on a project to clean the home. What seemed like a daunting job became a quest to make everything better than it was...Not only did the home get cleaned but the visual improvement made my sense of accomplishment soar. JOY is being able to take the mundane and turn it into something positive.

Cleanliness is Godliness

June 27, 2011
Between an apartment, a basement apartment, and a large home all needing deep cleaning...I thought I must be Cinderella...and then we were asked to clean the Church House. I have to say, though it is hard work, the fruits of my labors have been worthwhile. With all the places I have been asked to clean, I was thrilled to be able to include the Lord’s House. I am a far better housekeeper and organizer than I thought...discovering that... is JOY.

Oh Happy Day

Cleaning out the garage can be a major project, but the rewards can be great. I have found things I had forgotten I had lost. There in my pile of stuff stood four DVD's containing clips of Noah of yesteryear. Anxious to see what he used to look like, we sat down as a family to view our dear Noah. What a treasure...his sweet little voice, his big brown eyes, his contagious laughter, his dancing to ABBA, his love for his grandparents, his call for my attention..."Look MOM!" (How I loved hearing that!) his development and baby steps over the years, his Christmas Mornings and so much more. We were a small family finding JOY in the simple things. At that moment of watching the DVD's, I was overcome with a JOY I have not felt in a long time.

I found JOY hiding in my garage. It makes me wonder where I should look next.
