The 5th JOY of Christmas...Dear Santa

Dear Santa, Oh how I wish I could fulfill Noah's Christmas Wishes. JOY will come in trying. JOY is reading Noah's letter to Santa. JOY is knowing that he thought of me in his letter to Santa. Dear Santa, It is a Christmas Miracle that I am in need of this year. Please, please remember...

Santa Claus became known for his generosity to the poor. He devoted his life to Christianity and Children. He is the Magic of Christmas which comes through our own emulation of this awesome Legend.

Hibiscus Tree

When we first moved into our home on 9813 Spruce Dale Drive, the Hibiscus Tree was in full bloom. It was absolutely gorgeous. The following year, it looked as if the tree had died...no leaves...no blossoms...just dry branches. I loved that tree. I said a prayer around the tree, fed it Miracle Grow and talked to it occasionally. We had a few leaves that year...enough to encourage us to keep it for one more year. JOY is having our Hibiscus Tree bloom.

Found!

I do not know how or where it happened. I looked down at my finger and noticed that my Brigham Young University ring was gone. I think of all the places and boxes my hands had been...I didn’t know if I would see it again. “Maybe some day when I go through the boxes, it will be at the bottom,” but some of those boxes went to Deseret Industries and some were discarded. Rick asked me to clean out his office closet. I wasn’t thrilled about that, but I agreed. I grabbed a plastic sack...almost threw it away and decided to use it for garbage. For whatever reason, I looked in the sack as I threw the garbage away. Something caught my eye...was it a dime? I took another peek and their at the bottom of an old grocery sack was my RING! I almost threw the sack away. I rarely check the garbage as I throw it away. I don’t usually take a second look for something as small as a dime....this time I did. JOY was knowing that Heavenly Father knew how important that ring was to me. Though it seemed like there was no hope of finding it, He prepared the way through a series of unusual events.

JOY is finding something I lost.

Seek and Find

June 28, 2011
I lost my keys three times on June 22, 2011 and also locked them in my car when I went to check on Noah at Pack Meeting.

The JOY was finding my keys all three times and miraculously finding the extra set in one of the numerous boxes.....Even more JOY was watching Noah and the Scouts ride through the bicycle obstacle course. I wish I had captured that moment on camera...but it was in my locked car.

Look for Miracles

June 24, 2011
I believe in miracles. I have had some myself. It seems the time has come for another miracle. I saw a quote that read, “Look for Miracles.” Oh, so that is what I am missing. I need to look for them as they are every where. Hmmmm...maybe I will try growing one. (I really do love Miracle Grow...I believe it is what transformed our hibiscus tree.)

JOY is looking for a miracle.

Fresh Start

It is a mixed blessing to have parents willing to help like they do. Half empty...I feel guilt for the countless hours of unwavering service and dedication to me. Half full...grateful that they are the means for providing oh so needed help. JOY is a fresh start. JOY is gratitiude to parents for that fresh start.

Miracles

Never in my life have I needed MIRACLES like I do now. I think I am what gets in the way of my miracles...No doubt, I know the Lord can do all things. It is my lack of faith in myself...that I will allow those miracles to happen. I know the Lord can help me in my unbelief.

I can find JOY when I allow miracles to happen.
