He's Home

July 6, 2011
JOY was my son coming home after being away for a few days. JOY was hearing him excitedly relay the details of his trip.

Courage

July 6, 2011
I told Rick I was done showing the home. It was difficult to see their reactions and not be able to answer their questions. Rick told me that someone was coming to see the home at 6:00. I was prepared to let them walk through the home on their own. Instead I was greeted by a wonderful, beautiful, and honest family.

JOY is having the courage to try one more time.

Work

July 5, 2011
JOY is working extra hours at Early Light. I love sorting and organizing papers and I had the privilege of doing it for an extra five hours.

Fasting with Prayer

July 3, 2011
Today was a real planned out, prepared and carried out Fast Sunday. I find JOY in the blessing of Fasting. I can hardly wait to know if my Heavenly Father accepts my broken heart and contrite spirit.

I find JOY in knowing that Heavenly Father knows me and is aware of my plight. I know HE loves me...could there be any greater JOY?

Deseret Industries

July 2, 2011
JOY is Deseret Industries. We had so much that we hated to throw it away and yet circumstances would not provide a place for storing. What a great feeling to know that someone else will get use out of those items. JOY is found in simplification.

Adventure with Grandma and Grandpa

July 1, 2011
Fabulous grandparents invite Noah to spend some time at Hebgen Lake with his cousins. Surprised that Noah said yes without hesitation, in my mind, I worried that he would not want to go without his parents...but a trip with Grandma and Grandpa to a place of adventure put an end to my worries. JOY is having siblings there to watch over him and show him a fantastic time.

Check

June 30, 2011
I passed! With the help of Rick and Dad, the apartment was clean and empty before the 10:00 AM deadline.

JOY is having good help. JOY is having one place and project completed and checked off the “To Do” list.

Great Friends

June 29, 2011
Out of the blue, Amy took Noah for a few hours so that I could wrap up the last little bit at San Marino.

I found JOY in my good friend’s sensitivity to my needs.

Seek and Find

June 28, 2011
I lost my keys three times on June 22, 2011 and also locked them in my car when I went to check on Noah at Pack Meeting.

The JOY was finding my keys all three times and miraculously finding the extra set in one of the numerous boxes.....Even more JOY was watching Noah and the Scouts ride through the bicycle obstacle course. I wish I had captured that moment on camera...but it was in my locked car.

Cleanliness is Godliness

June 27, 2011
Between an apartment, a basement apartment, and a large home all needing deep cleaning...I thought I must be Cinderella...and then we were asked to clean the Church House. I have to say, though it is hard work, the fruits of my labors have been worthwhile. With all the places I have been asked to clean, I was thrilled to be able to include the Lord’s House. I am a far better housekeeper and organizer than I thought...discovering that... is JOY.

Just Face It

There is always one more thing to do. When one item is checked off, three more appear. Noah wanted to go to get an ice cream snickers. We were in the car when I noticed something needed to be put away. While putting that away, I found a few other projects to complete quickly. Noah patiently waited until he could bear it no more. I saw him walk in the backyard backwards and that got my attention. When he turned around...I realized his boredom and sense of humor. It sure put a smile on my face. I was able to stop the projects and took him to the Maverick for his treat.

Time

June 25, 2011
Grandma and Grandpa took Noah and a friend to dinner and the movies. As much as I love the little guy, we were able to get so much accomplished.

JOY is receiving a gift of time.

Look for Miracles

June 24, 2011
I believe in miracles. I have had some myself. It seems the time has come for another miracle. I saw a quote that read, “Look for Miracles.” Oh, so that is what I am missing. I need to look for them as they are every where. Hmmmm...maybe I will try growing one. (I really do love Miracle Grow...I believe it is what transformed our hibiscus tree.)

JOY is looking for a miracle.

Vinci Pooh

June 17, 2011
Having a Great Dane in a small basement apartment is a challenge. Needless to say there were spots, many spots on the carpet. It made my stomach curdle to get on the floor to play with Noah.

JOY is having CLEAN CARPETS thanks to The Lyons Carpet Cleaning Company.

Noah had friends over. I would not let them enter the apartment because of dirty feet and beautiful carpets. I grabbed the boys and picked up take out at Cafe Rio and had a tailgate party in the back of Rick’s truck.

That was JOY...why haven’t we “Tailgated” before?

Fresh Start

It is a mixed blessing to have parents willing to help like they do. Half empty...I feel guilt for the countless hours of unwavering service and dedication to me. Half full...grateful that they are the means for providing oh so needed help. JOY is a fresh start. JOY is gratitiude to parents for that fresh start.

Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do

I was invited to join the ward choir. I had my first practice and found out that the first performance will be the following Sunday. JOY is knowing that talents can be developed and that others are willing to let you try.

Scout Camp

I found great JOY in dropping Noah off at the Church for his first offical Scout Camp. I can hardly wait to hear the details. Today was "Camp Jurassic" and tomorrow, "Camp Superheros."

Be the Change

I have already forgotten about the glass half full idea. I am determined once again to find JOY and see the good in all my relationships. JOY is having another chance with Rick. JOY is knowing we can improve upon our past. JOY is knowing the Savior made it possible for us to forgive, forget, and move on to our God given potential. I will be the change.

Internet Connection

JOY is the internet. I have been without a connection for a couple of weeks. I have had to record my JOYS in pages or go to the library. JOY was having the modem delivered. I did not know if I would see that again. JOY is deleting unimportant emails. JOY is the library computer and it's message, "Would you like to extend your session another 15 minutes?"
